Classification and mechanical properties of fasteners

5.1 What is a fastener: a general term for a class of mechanical parts used to fasten two or more parts together. The market is also called standard parts. These include: bolts, studs, screws, nuts, self-tapping screws, wood screws, washers, retaining rings, pins, rivets, and assemblies.

5.2.1 Mechanical properties of fasteners for bolts, studs and screws (GB3098.6) equivalent to ISO3506-1-1997
